Pen Women

A Celebrity Luncheon to shout about and a great success with over 100 in attendance at Michael’s Restaurant at Shoreline! The Santa Clara County Branch honored professional women in the arts at their annual luncheon on March 1. These “celebrity” women are artists, composers, writers and much more. The luncheon is also a fundraiser for the Excellence in the Arts monetary awards that are awarded to talented women of any age, either graduating from high school in 2025, undergraduate students or returning college students. There was fabulous entertainment performed by pen women, and most ladies wore hats to celebrate the theme. The ladies had a hat parade, and dozens of hats were for sale, along with a huge jewelry table. A silent auction and a beautiful basket raffle rounded off the event. Enough was made to once again provide three Excellence in the Arts Awards for $1,500 each to students talented in Art, Music and Letters. Also honored were eight pen women who have been members ranging from 20 years to 43 years. Stephen Guruwaiya, “Media Sponsor”
